I was told that their financial situation was being evaluated and that I would have an answer once that is done. I trust the manager that he couldn't do anything, I just wished they were more transparent in their communications, my manager didn't seem to know what was happening in their central office. In the end I decided that working in such a hierarchical environment with so many managing layers was not what I wanted. As I said, 2 months after getting another job they called me back for another job offering. I would suggest you start looking elsewhere and just accept something if it seems better than what you expect at Oracle (or if you're short on money and need something soon).
