I have faced a similar kind of situation where after completing all the interview rounds successfully I am just waiting for the approval of my hiring...no idea what exactly it is.

It seems similar to what I went through, the manager kept telling me I had the job if the last level approved my submission (to my understanding the last level is just a monetary thing). I was told that their financial situation was being evaluated and that I would have an answer once that is done.

I trust the manager that he couldn't do anything, I just wished they were more transparent in their communications, my manager didn't seem to know what was happening in their central office.

In the end I decided that working in such a hierarchical environment with so many managing layers was not what I wanted.

As I said, 2 months after getting another job they called me back for another job offering. I would suggest you start looking elsewhere and just accept something if it seems better than what you expect at Oracle (or if you're short on money and need something soon).

Hi Michel,

I am actually going through a similar situation that you were. Oracle contacted me for a position. 2 months back they said that offer will be released in 6 weeks. It's now 4th month and the HR as well as the hiring manager says that the approval is pending at the last level and they are not sure and can't tell particular time frame too when an offer could be released. I could see myself in a similar situation while reading your blog. At one end, the manager was assuring me that they want to hire me and asked me to wait for few days, but after reading your blog, I kinda feel I am wasiting my time.

Is this the usual hiring process of Oracle??

Reg,
